Teesside Airport Movements

WhatsApp Group

Dave, Chris, Stuart, Matt and Andrew joined the rest of the Friends of Teesside committee for a curry and a pint mid-February and the suggestion was made that a community WhatsApp group might not go amiss, which was then met with enthusiasm amongst those in attendance.

On the rare occasion we can't update the website, chances are we will still be able to access the WhatsApp, so we will use it for "heads up" notifications.

Since the demise in recent years of the old Google/Yahoo Groups, most such platforms have now migrated to WhatsApp and if anything we are a little late to the party!

Friends of Teesside are planning a number of trips and visits this year, spare places (if any) will be offered on the WhatsApp ahead of anywhere else - most such trips we just car share, perhaps the group could justify the hiring of a coach or minibus...?

Guidelines

  • Content should be limited to Teesside International Airport material, a separate chat within the group has now been set-up for local airfields and overflight posts. National and international aviation related news items acceptable if of significant noteworthiness.

  • No airport politics - we don't care if you are for or against past or present ownership.

  • It is possible the group could be active at peak times as well as sporadically during the night, it will be impractical to impose a curfew so we advise members to use the "mute chat" feature as necessary. To do this, click the three dots (top right), then "Mute notifications".

  • By default, any media posted to the group will download to your phone, to stop this, again click the three dots (top right), then "Group info", then "Media visibility" - set to "No".

  • Manners cost nothing...be polite and respectful! There will be a zero tolerance policy on antagonistic content.
