North South Tour III (by Chris Smith)

During January I take a weeks holiday & this tour of the region is starting to become a bit of a tradition during this week! Technically this year it's not a North - South tour (I must think up a better name!) since I started in the South & worked my way North, but the principle is the same.

Noted at Coney Park as I was leaving LBA was a beautiful maroon Squirrel so I paid a visit. One of the two German Army Bolkow Bo105s remains, no sign of the second though.

Final call of the day was RAF Linton-on-Ouse to bag some Tucano's. Had a bit of a disaster upon leaving Linton, I was driving along when the car behind me started flashing at me, I couldn't tell at first if he was or not so I just ignored it. A couple of minutes later I hear a noise, check my rear view mirror to see several large pieces of rubber bouncing off the road - my first thought was I'd lost a tyre, but I was quickly informed by the driver who had been flashing to warn me that it was my binocs which I'd left on the car roof!! In truth I was relieved it was them & not my camera or car!!

Hope it's been an enjoyable read! No doubt I'll do it again next January!
